New Saints!

Today, October 23, 2011, World Mission Sunday,
His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI will canonize at Saint Peter's Basilica three faithful:

GUIDO MARIA CONFORTI
archbishop of Parma and founder of the Pious Society of Saint Francis Xavier
for Foreign Missions (Xaverian Missionaries);
LUIGI GUANELLA,
priest and
founder of the Congregation of the Servants of Charity (Guanellians)
and of the Institute of the Daughters of Saint Mary of Providence
; and,
BONIFACIA RODRÍGUEZ DE CASTRO,
founder of the Congregation of the Servants of Saint Joseph.

Because of these three gifts for our Church and our Faith,
we shall hear again the sweet formula of Canonization
from the very mouth of the Vicar of Christ:

“For the honor of the Blessed Trinity, the exaltation of the Catholic faith and the fostering of Christian life, by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, and our own, after due deliberation and frequent prayers for divine assistance, and having sought the counsel of many of our brethren in the Episcopate, we declare and define that Blessed Guido Maria Conforti, Blessed Luigi Guanella and Blessed Bonifacia Rodriguez Castro are Saints and we enroll them among the Saints, decreeing that they are to be venerated in the whole Church as Saints.”
